Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Manager to lead our engineering initiatives. This role is pivotal in managing a diverse range of projects related to civil engineering design, including but not limited to drainage systems, hydrology, traffic planning, and site development.

Key Responsibilities:
The Civil Engineering Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing civil engineering analysis and design tasks such as zoning assessments, site planning, stormwater management, utility layout, and transportation design.
  • Coordinating and presenting project submissions to local authorities, utility companies, and environmental agencies.
  • Ensuring compliance with NJDOT standards and collaborating with various agencies.
  • Conducting site investigations to document existing conditions accurately.
  • Reviewing design calculations and assisting in the preparation of technical drawings and specifications.
  • Leading the development of project plans and coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Addressing issues that arise during the construction phase of projects.
  • Utilizing a comprehensive set of technical and project management skills across a range of projects.
  • Engaging with current clients and pursuing new business opportunities to foster growth.
  • Preparing technical content for engineering service proposals.
  • Representing the firm at industry events and business development functions.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior engineering staff.
  • Managing project financials and revenue forecasts on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in civil and site engineering.
  • A valid NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to provide constructive feedback to engineering teams.
  • A solid understanding of local codes and permitting processes.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across different business units.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and meeting project deadlines.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
