Job Overview

Position Summary: The Lead Accounting Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes within the organization. This position is essential for maintaining compliance with industry regulations and enhancing member service.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Embody the mission, vision, and values of First Community Credit Union in all interactions.
  2. Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations.
  3. Foster a dynamic, service-oriented culture that consistently seeks to enhance member experiences.
  4. Promote a positive image of the credit union during both work and personal engagements.
  5. Support branch operations and services to effectively meet member needs.
  6. Provide assistance with inquiries, rectify errors, and manage payment applications within the computer system.
  7. Organize daily tasks to ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
  8. Delegate tasks to team members as necessary.
  9. Serve as a backup for all staff during absences.
  10. Manage and resolve ACH exceptions.
  11. Address and rectify Draft exceptions.
  12. Oversee Card transaction reconciliations.
  13. Reconcile General Ledger accounts as directed by management.
  14. Assist regulatory examiners by providing necessary information and addressing their inquiries regarding the credit union.
  15. Participate in training sessions to stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  16. Support members with online banking services, e-statements, bill payments, and more.
  17. Facilitate the ordering of debit and credit cards for the credit union.
  18. Manage cash orders for all branches.
  19. Handle disputes related to debit and credit cards.
  20. Process both outgoing and incoming wire transfers.
  21. Provide backup support for the Call Center by assisting members with their inquiries.
  22. Perform additional duties as assigned to help achieve the credit union's objectives.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A degree in Accounting or a minimum of four years of experience in financial accounting is required.

All employees must comply with government regulations relevant to the credit union sector, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA Patriot Act.
