About the Role

The Supportive Learning Associate assists lead teachers and teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate activity plans for children in the classroom according to current standards. This role involves close visual supervision and observation of group activities, frequent one-on-one interactions with individual children, and communication with parents, caregivers, and other staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and motor development in children.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documents, ensuring they are accessible and compliant with regulations.
  • Restock classroom materials and supplies as needed, promoting a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure licensing, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
  • Provide orientation and training for substitute teachers regarding classroom functions and operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The ideal candidate will have Early Childhood Education credentials, be enrolled in Early Childhood courses, and possess 6 additional credit hours of Early Childhood Education. Additionally, prior experience working with young children and knowledge of child development principles are highly desirable.
