About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an ED Registration Specialist at WVU Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced emergency department environment and make a meaningful contribution to the care of our patients.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively with patients, medical staff, and support staff. You will be responsible for managing patient registration and financial obligations, including obtaining demographic and insurance information, preparing necessary paperwork, and balancing daily receipts and cash drawer.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Obtain demographic and billing information from patients and enter it into registration systems
  2. Prepare and present consent forms and other necessary paperwork to patients
  3. Collect deposits, copayments, deductibles, and patient liability payments as needed
  4. Balance daily receipts and cash drawer and follow up on accounts as indicated by system flags
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • State criminal background check and federal background check (if applicable) required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required
Compensation

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $42,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Additionally, you can expect a range of benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan, making this a competitive and attractive opportunity.
