About the Job:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Coordinator II to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration, scheduling, and admissions processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional patient service and experience through efficient and accurate registration and scheduling processes
  • Obtain necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information from patients and their families
  • Distribute educational materials and forms to patients as needed
  • Communicate with physicians' offices, nursing units, and other departments regarding patient admissions and placement
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate changes with other departments and staff members
  • Verify insurance benefits and authorizations/pre-certifications for patients
  • Review physician orders for completeness and accuracy, including required tests, prior authorizations, and form completion

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic knowledge of CPT & ICD10 codes
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care Payers, as well as Medical Terminology
  • Ability to type 30 WPM with high accuracy
  • Decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Cross-trained in multiple areas of Patient Access and willing to adapt to changing department needs
