Dolby's consumer entertainment and cinema divisions are expanding to integrate Dolby's pioneering technologies, enhancing the entertainment experiences of viewers worldwide across various media formats and devices.

As a Software Engineer in Test at Dolby, your responsibilities will include evaluating software that powers the next generation of Dolby technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently assess and deliver groundbreaking Dolby Imaging/Video products.
  • Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and research teams to ensure timely and high-quality product launches.
  • Design and develop new continuous integration and testing frameworks to support innovations in imaging technology across diverse ecosystems and device categories.
  • Evaluate emerging imaging technologies to create high-quality libraries.
  • Establish and maintain testing environments, tools, and precise documentation.
  • Prototype innovative testing vectors, methodologies, tools, or techniques.
  • Provide mentorship and support to team members.
  • Identify issues, prepare comprehensive bug reports, and verify bug fixes.
  • Generate and interpret testing metrics, and compile objective testing reports.
  • Engage in reviews for requirements, testing plans, designs, and code.
  • Excel in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Collaborate with technical writers to create technical documentation for publications.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and facilitate effective communication.
  • Represent Dolby professionally at various industry events and exhibitions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on multimedia/computer vision, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Expertise in computer graphics, computer vision, image processing, and/or video processing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with HDR technologies such as Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.
  • Experience with C++ programming.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Perforce or Git, and project management tools like Jira.
  • Understanding of video technologies, cinema, and television production workflows.
  • Experience working in agile teams.

The salary range for this full-time position varies based on location, inclusive of bonuses, benefits, and potential equity participation.

Salary levels are influenced by factors such as role, seniority, and location, including relevant skills, experience, market dynamics, internal equity, and educational background.
