We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Software Development Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance our quality assurance processes. In this position, you will be responsible for validating ASIC drivers and software for both current and future product lines. Your expertise in networking, operating systems, and automation will be crucial in analyzing and replicating issues reported by both internal teams and customers, identifying root causes, and confirming bug resolutions. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated team of software, hardware, and ASIC engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans along with functional, regression, and performance test cases, guided by feature and hardware specifications.

· Detect and document software defects encountered during the verification process.

· Investigate and resolve customer-reported issues effectively.

· Collaborate with software and hardware developers, other QA teams, and support/field teams to ensure accurate identification, reproduction, and resolution of defects.

· Contribute to the creation, deployment, and management of automated test cases and/or automation tools.

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

· Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.

· 2 to 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and replicating complex network issues.

· Proficient in Linux command line usage, with the ability to effectively create test environments and troubleshoot problems.

· Extensive knowledge of at least five of the following: network packet analyzers (e.g., Wireshark), IPsec, IPv6, TLS, benchmark testing, multicast, VXLAN, QoS, and traffic generation tools.

· Proven ability to logically and analytically troubleshoot software and network issues.

· Experience with programming languages such as Python or Ruby.

· Familiarity with quality assurance principles and testing methodologies.

· Ability to produce clear problem statements and detailed test reports.

· Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

· Capability to manage assigned tasks under tight deadlines, complete tasks with minimal supervision, and explore new topics independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

· Strong programming skills and a solid understanding of software development fundamentals.

· Extensive experience in replicating network issues reported by diverse customers.

· Experience in developing test automation frameworks.

· Knowledge of operating systems, particularly Linux, including internals, kernel, and drivers.

· Familiarity with traffic generation tools such as Spirent or Ixia is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000-$135,000. Fortinet provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation time, and sick leave, along with a robust leave program.

Wage ranges are determined by various factors, including labor market conditions, job type, and job level. Specific salary offers will be influenced by the candidate's expertise, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All positions are eligible for participation in the Fortinet equity program, and bonus eligibility is assessed at the time of hire and annually at the company's discretion.
