JOB SUMMARY:
The Speech Language Pathologist will support children with unique communication requirements; collaborate with educational staff to achieve student speech and language objectives, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards as mandated by state and federal guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct and coordinate assessments for early intervention and educational evaluations.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary evaluations involving the child, family, and the formulation of integrated goals for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
  • Inform and educate parents and stakeholders about service delivery.
  • Deliver specialized instruction as specified in IEPs/IFSPs.
  • Consult with families, service providers, and community agency representatives to facilitate effective service delivery.
  • Design a structured schedule of individualized, age-appropriate activities across various environments.
  • Employ diverse materials and instructional strategies, including evidence-based practices.
  • Implement interventions using various service delivery models, such as classroom support, family-guided routines, collaborative consultation, and pull-out services, tailored to meet student needs in the least restrictive setting.
  • Actively participate with students in instructional activities.
  • Establish a continuous evaluation system to monitor each student's progress.
  • Coordinate service provision to enhance learning opportunities.
  • Attend meetings (IFSP/IEP, conferences, parent discussions, training sessions, etc.) to develop plans and share information regarding student goals and outcomes.
  • Provide training for related service personnel and parents regarding student disabilities.
  • Prepare documentation (evaluations, observations, progress reports) to meet reporting requirements.
  • Maintain records and reports in accordance with administrative policies and regulatory standards.
  • Refer students to other professionals and agencies as necessary.
  • Guide and instruct parents and educational staff on effective strategies to support their child.
  • Collaborate with Special Education personnel regarding student needs and progress.
  • Manage service coordination and IEP case management as required.
  • Oversee third-party billing and Medicaid billing profiles for eligible students.
  • Supervise school staff in implementing specific learning goals and objectives for students.
  • Uphold confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology / CCC SLP.
  • Experience with a diverse range of communication needs in students.
  • Opportunities available for Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • Familiarity with due process procedures, including evaluations, IEP/IFSP development, progress monitoring, and meeting facilitation.
  • Possession of a valid Minnesota Driver's License and liability insurance coverage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to program and student needs.
  • Knowledge of screening, evaluation, and assessment tools and their applications.
  • Understanding of due process requirements and proficient computer skills.
  • Capability to implement IEPs/IFSPs effectively.
  • Ability to work under the guidance of a site principal or special education supervisor.
  • Skill in adapting materials and equipment for children with disabilities.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of individuals with varying physical, psychological, cognitive, and sensory abilities.
  • Ability to engage with students, families, and professionals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Capacity to foster cooperative relationships with all staff levels and the public.
