**Division Controller - Financial Operations Manager**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Division Controller to join our team at Southwest Accounting Resources, Inc. as a Financial Operations Manager. This is a key role that will serve as a business partner to the Division President and will oversee the financial reporting and close for the division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the month-end Financial Close processes for assigned division, ensuring that financial statements are accurate, produced in a timely manner, and are prepared in accordance with US GAAP accounting standards and in alignment with company policies.
  • Preparation and/or review of journal entries, recording and/or review of intercompany transactions, preparation and/or review of bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies/variances.
  • Analysis of division financial statements, supporting the Division President and other division leaders in analyzing financial data and providing reports that aid in decision-making.
  • Management of Accounts Payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices, management of Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely and accurate customer billing, collections and cash application.
  • Assisting with annual budgets and monthly forecast for assigned division, managing audit requests from internal and external sources, preparation of sales/use and property tax filings for various jurisdictions.
  • Monitoring payroll, revenue, expenses, balance sheet and cash flow activity and preparing special reports for division, as needed, focusing on process improvements, identifying areas of opportunity and/or concern and developing plans for improvements.
  • Managing Staff and/or Senior Accountants, as well as AP and AR team members, maintaining percentage-of-completion accrual transactions, and other Finance and Accounting duties and projects, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university required.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in an Accounting or Finance function, with prior controllership experience preferred.
  • Relevant experience at a public Company required, with solid understanding of SOX and SEC compliance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of US GAAP.
  • Inventory accounting experience preferred, experience with application of revenue recognition over time, prior experience with managing teams.
  • Active CPA license a plus but not required, proficiency in the use of ERP software and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective communication with all levels of management, strong organizational and time management skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to changing business conditions and priorities.
