Job Title: Land Development Specialist

As a Land Development Specialist at Tesla, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of our commercial energy projects. You will be part of a cross-functional team that ensures the timely and efficient development of our EV charging, battery storage, and solar projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify and acquire suitable sites for our energy projects.
  • Develop and implement land development strategies to meet project timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct due diligence analyses using GIS tools and databases to identify potential site constraints.
  • Prepare and submit land use and environmental permit applications.
  • Coordinate with local, state, and federal permitting authorities to obtain necessary permits.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project budgets.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of applied land development experience, with 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in land use planning and environmental policy, including CEQA/NEPA, CWA/CAA, NHPA, NPDES, USACE, ESA, EPA, and local zoning.
  • Knowledge of project design and civil construction fundamentals associated with commercial energy project development.
  • Ability to identify potential site constraints and develop preliminary site plans using ArcGIS or AutoCAD.
  • Experience managing external consultants and contractors through full scopes.
Compensation and Benefits:

Expected compensation for this role is $100,000 - $186,000 per year, plus cash and stock awards, and benefits.
