Position Summary:
Our expanding Finance & Accounting Team is in search of a Technical Accounting Manager to support our monthly and annual consolidated financial reporting obligations. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of current U.S. GAAP, demonstrate the ability to investigate intricate technical accounting issues, and exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills while working autonomously and diligently following up on action items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate unique transactions and draft technical accounting memoranda to document conclusions regarding accounting treatment to ensure accurate accounting and disclosure.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to collect necessary data for analysis.
  • Track and evaluate the implications of new accounting and disclosure standards, leading implementations as relevant to the organization.
  • Oversee specific initiatives, including accounting for business combinations, goodwill and intangible assets, revenue recognition, and consolidations.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to address information requests and inquiries, ensuring timely completion of annual audits.
  • Assist in enhancing and maintaining compliance with internal processes and controls.
  • Support various special projects as assigned by management, including project cost analysis and related financial presentations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to devise implementation strategies aimed at streamlining processes and improving financial reporting capabilities.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and government contracting requirements, ensuring that system configurations and processes remain compliant and current.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of financial reporting requirements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline with CPA certification.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role within an accounting or finance function in a high-performing technology firm.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities, with a capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government-issued security clearance.
  • Willingness to work full-time in our Leesburg, Virginia office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with federal government contractors and/or technology firms.
  • Prior public accounting experience is advantageous.
