Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Technical Accounting Manager to enhance our Finance & Accounting Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and involves the analysis of complex accounting issues. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, the ability to work autonomously, and a commitment to following through on action items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate unique transactions and create technical accounting documentation to substantiate accounting conclusions and ensure accurate disclosures.
- Engage with various departments to collect necessary data for thorough analysis.
- Monitor new accounting regulations and lead the implementation of changes as required.
- Oversee specific projects, including business combination accounting, goodwill and intangible asset assessments, revenue recognition, and consolidation processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate timely completion of annual audits.
- Support the enhancement of internal processes and compliance with controls.
- Assist in special projects as directed by management, including project cost analysis and financial presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise strategies that improve financial reporting and streamline processes.
- Stay informed on changes in accounting standards and ensure that our systems and processes remain compliant.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP financial reporting requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline, with CPA certification.
- 5-7 years of leadership experience in an accounting or finance role within a high-performing technology organization.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities, with a capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficient in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government-issued security clearance.
- Willingness to work full-time in our Leesburg, Virginia office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with federal government contracting and/or technology firms.
- Background in public accounting is advantageous.
