Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Assistant I to join our team at McLaren Health Care. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide essential support to our nursing team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Routine Patient Care Services: Assist with call light response, ambulation, transferring, and positioning, as well as personal hygiene assistance and prescribed bowel and bladder program support.
  • Collect and Record Patient Data: Gather and document various patient information, reporting changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
  • Perform Surgical Skin Preps and Basic Skin Care Procedures: Conduct pre-operative skin preparations and basic skin care procedures, including bedside finger stick blood sugars and quality control checks of blood glucose instruments.
  • Support Unit Operations: Participate in postmortem care, cleaning of rooms and areas, running errands, making deliveries, and responding to Code Blue and Code Red situations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Specialized Education Requirements: For those without six months of nursing assistance experience, completion of an acute care nursing assistant course, long-term care nursing assistant course, emergency medical technician program, medical assistant program, or clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior nursing assistant experience of at least six months is required for those without specialized education requirements.
  • Certifications: BLS certification as a Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN) is required.
