The Veterinary Nurse I role is essential in providing care for sick and injured animals within a veterinary teaching facility. Key Responsibilities:- Deliver comprehensive patient care for animals in need.
- Instruct and demonstrate veterinary techniques to students.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
In this role, you will enhance your skills in various areas including:
- Central line placement
- Arterial and urinary catheterization
- Tracheostomy care
- Ventilator and dialysis patient management

Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess:
- A background in Veterinary Technology, typically acquired through two to three years of college or vocational training.
- Six months to one year of relevant experience in patient care, surgery, anesthesia, and sterilization.
- Licensure as a Veterinary Technician in the State of Michigan or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
Experience in an educational environment and a background in emergency medicine are advantageous.

Work Schedule:This position typically follows a first shift schedule, with varying days.
Physical Demands:The role requires the ability to lift and carry animals weighing up to 50 pounds individually, or 150 pounds as part of a team.
