Position Overview:
As a Veterinary Nurse I, you will be responsible for providing essential care to sick and injured animals within a veterinary teaching facility. This role will primarily focus on the Emergency and Critical Care unit, where you will have the opportunity to instruct and guide students while assisting veterinary technicians and veterinarians in their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver patient care for animals requiring medical attention.
  • Instruct and demonstrate veterinary techniques to students.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of hospital areas.
  • Manage supplies and equipment effectively.

Skills Development:
You will gain valuable experience in various advanced procedures such as central line placement, arterial catheterization, urinary catheterization, tracheostomy care, and the management of ventilator and dialysis patients. Our team consists of Boarded Critical Care Specialized Veterinarians and Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician Specialists who are dedicated to supporting your professional growth.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess knowledge typically acquired through two to three years of college or technical training in Veterinary Technology, along with six months to one year of progressively responsible experience in patient care, surgery, anesthesia, and sterilization. A valid Veterinary Technician license in the State of Michigan is required or must be obtained within one year of employment.
