We are seeking a skilled Nurse Assistant I to join our team at McLaren Greater Lansing. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential support to our nursing staff and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide routine patient care services, including call light response, ambulation, transfer, and positioning, as well as personal hygiene assistance and prescribed bowel and bladder program support.
- Collect, record, and report various patient data, including changes in patient condition.
- Perform surgical skin preps, basic skin care procedures, bedside finger stick blood sugars, and quality control checks of blood glucose instruments.
- Support general unit activities, such as postmortem care, cleaning of rooms and areas, running errands, making deliveries, and responding to Code Blue and Code Red situations.
- Perform other related responsibilities as necessary.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Specialized education requirements for those not meeting minimum six-month nursing assistance experience include:
- Acute care nursing assistant course preferred for acute care positions or
- Long term care nursing assistant course or
- Completion of an emergency medical technician program or
- Completion of a medical assistant program or
- Completion of a clinical rotation while participating in an accredited nursing program.
- Direct patient care experience preferred. Prior nursing assistant experience of at least six months is required when the specialized education requirements identified above have not been met or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).
