Job Overview

Position: Community Life Coordinator

About Mobile Loaves & Fishes

Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF) is a dedicated outreach organization focused on fostering a culture of service for individuals experiencing homelessness. Established in Austin, Texas, MLF operates through three primary initiatives: Truck Ministry, Community First Village, and Community Works. Community First Village, a 51-acre planned community, offers affordable housing and a nurturing environment for individuals transitioning from chronic homelessness. MLF is currently in the process of expanding its community to welcome over 1400 new residents in the coming years.

Role Overview

The Neighbor Care Team at Mobile Loaves & Fishes plays a vital role in supporting our "neighbors," including "Missionals"—volunteers who choose to live at Community First Village as intentional community members. This team assists Missionals in their application process, helping them acclimate, thrive, and care for themselves and others within this unique environment.

The Community Life Coordinator is instrumental in providing this support. Key responsibilities include managing and organizing all facets of Missional life within the village, as well as planning, coordinating, and facilitating faith-oriented events in partnership with other MLF programs.

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Neighbor Care. The role offers flexible hours, typically from Wednesday to Sunday, with some evening commitments required. The Community Life Coordinator will work primarily within the Community First Village.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee various required engagements, meetings, and communications for Missionals.
  • Support Missionals in both leadership and administrative capacities.
  • Manage the Missional Manor Home, accommodating discerning Missionals and families.
  • Collaborate with Faith Partner Ambassador and Faith Partnership Steward to enhance spiritual opportunities within CFV.
  • Gather community feedback regarding their spiritual needs and interests.
  • Develop a comprehensive plan for diverse spiritual offerings.
  • Facilitate volunteer events focused on faith and community.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrated integrity and commitment to excellence.
  • Proactive and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
  • Must possess patience, compassion, and professionalism.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to navigate various phases of Community First Village.
  • Comfortable working in both office and outdoor settings under varying weather conditions.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive employer-paid health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one.
  • Generous paid time off and holiday pay.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions.
  • Access to corporate discounts.
  • Opportunities for professional development.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Wellness partnership benefits.

MLF Purpose / Vision

We empower communities to embrace a lifestyle of service towards individuals experiencing homelessness.
