Child Life Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our Child Life department, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging environment for patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate activities for patients, ensuring their physical, cognitive, and emotional needs are met.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to promote the physical and psychological well-being of pediatric patients.
- Ensure the safety, maintenance, and cleanliness of assigned activity areas.
- Provide orientation and training to volunteers and student staff members.
- Assist with special events and community outreach initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 1 year of direct experience in child life or a related field.
- Bilingual English and Spanish language skills (or other languages as specified).
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification.
