About the Role

The ED, P&C Pricing Actuary is a critical member of our team, responsible for developing product rate plans and overseeing the execution of customized rate actions on multi-billion-dollar product line revenue. This role requires a strong understanding of financial metrics and key drivers for pricing results, as well as the ability to successfully influence across teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement product rate plans, ensuring thorough analysis of loss and premium trend projections, loss development, expense allocations, and projections.
  • Direct the development of product financial indications, ensuring professional and legal compliance.
  • Facilitate refined pricing business decision capabilities by incorporating new model tools and analysis techniques within the pricing review process.
  • Promote and influence highly collaborative solutions to state pricing actions with Underwriting and Product Management executive alignment.
  • Direct process improvement efforts and quality control in pricing procedures.
  • Provide leadership through ongoing resource planning, career planning, and development of rising leaders and high-performing teams.
  • Build and oversee a team of actuarial professionals through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching, and support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 10 years of progressive actuarial experience in the property and casualty insurance industry developing strategies, managing major initiatives, and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.
  • 4 years of people leadership experience in building, managing, and/or developing high-performing teams.
  • Credentialed Casualty Actuary; FCAS.
  • Experience in multivariate analysis and other complex modeling using statistical and predictive modeling techniques.
  • Solid understanding of financial metrics and key drivers for pricing results.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to successfully influence across teams.
What We Offer

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $163,980.00.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
