Job Summary

The Actuarial Pricing Section at Tokio Marine North America Services works closely with internal and external customers to provide pricing solutions for sister companies with significant market share. The team performs actuarial analyses, prepares reports, and participates in actuarial projects to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and organize internal data to support rate maintenance needs, including rate indications, rate impacts, filing forms, and responses to insurance department inquiries.
  • Develop rate plans for new coverages and support the filing of plans with insurance departments using internal and external information.
  • Adjust existing rate plans, present proposed changes to underwriters, and support the filing of plans with insurance departments.
  • Participate in programming, preparation, and interpretation of actuarial reports.
  • Contribute to projects involving product development and pricing.
  • Develop new ideas and efficiencies to improve department performance.
  • Complete actuarial exams within the guidelines set by the TMNAS Actuarial Student Program.
  • Collaborate with a team environment and comply with internal controls.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Understanding of quantitative tools, techniques, and statistical methods.
  • Basic knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving actuarial operational or process problems.
  • Understanding of Property & Casualty coverage structures preferred.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in actuarial science, math, finance, economics, computer science, or information science & technology desirable.
  • 2+ years of Property and Casualty Actuarial experience.
  • At least 3 full CAS exams completed.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Working knowledge of SQL preferred.
  • Experience with standard Property and Casualty ratemaking practices preferred.
