This position as Senior Actuary - Pricing and Product Development at USAA offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of product rate plans and customized rate action on multi-billion-dollar product line revenue. Key Responsibilities- Oversee the planning and execution of product line pricing reviews and strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Develop financial indications for products, ensuring thorough analysis and profitability, and providing recommendations for rate plan development.
- Drive refined pricing decision capabilities through new model tools and competitive intelligence, and promote collaborative solutions to state pricing actions.
- Lead process improvement efforts and quality control in pricing procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership for resource planning, career development, and team building, and build and manage a team of actuarial professionals.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified and controlled, and provide strategic guidance on risk management.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science.
- 10 years of progressive actuarial experience in property and casualty insurance, with a strong background in pricing and product development.
- 4 years of people leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
- Credentialed Casualty Actuary; FCAS, with a strong understanding of actuarial principles and practices.
- Experience in multivariate analysis and complex modeling, with a strong ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing multiple initiatives and adapting to change, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
- Experience in Specialty Lines products such as Umbrella, Landlord, and Renters, with a strong understanding of the underlying risks and pricing strategies.
- Proven experience leading multiple projects and partnering with product managers on pricing strategies, with a strong ability to drive results and achieve business objectives.
