Job Summary

The Certified Surgical Tech I plays a vital role in the operating room team, ensuring the preparation of sterile supplies and equipment for surgical procedures. This position requires a high level of autonomy, with the ability to function independently while maintaining a focus on patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains a sterile environment for surgical procedures
  • Assists with patient care and transportation
  • Functions as a member of the operating room team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills required to provide care and/or service appropriate to the level of development of patients, with consideration of the needs of patients' families

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology or surgical technology military program
  • Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 2 weeks of hire and maintenance of current certification
