Your expertise will be essential in assisting physicians in operating room procedures, communicating with patients, and ensuring seamless pre-operative and post-operative care. You will also participate in the Athletic Training Residency program, mentoring and guiding residents in their clinical development. Your passion for delivering high-quality care and commitment to excellence will make you an invaluable member of our team.Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians to develop comprehensive care plans for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, including academic and physical recommendations based on clinical assessments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Athletic Training Residency program, ensuring alignment with the team's mission and goals.
- Provide exceptional patient care, including triage, casting, suture removal, vital signs, and communication with patients and families.
- Participate in the coordination of diagnostic studies, surgeries, and other treatments, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Contribute to the preparation of patients for minor surgical procedures, including preparation of treatment sites.
- Perform point-of-care testing and order diagnostic testing or follow-up care as directed by supervising physicians.
- Provide post-operative care and treatment, discussing follow-up care, performing evaluations, and educating patients and families.
- Triage patient messages, phone calls, and questions, communicating with referring providers and managing referrals to specialists and diagnostics tests.
Requirements
Masters Degree in Athletic Training
1 year of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer
South Carolina DHEC Athletic Training Certificate required
CPR Certification
NBCOT OTC (Orthopaedic Technologist)
Work Environment
Day shift in a fast-paced healthcare environment
