Job Overview

The Automotive Service Manager, reporting directly to the Store Manager, is tasked with upholding the highest standards of service excellence and embodying our core values to enhance operations within the service department. This role involves fostering a highly motivated team atmosphere and collaborating closely with the Service Team to elevate their performance through active engagement in the store, effectively developing and mentoring team members, and implementing store processes and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by collaborating with the Store Manager on final hiring decisions.
  • Oversee technicians and service staff, coordinating their tasks, delegating work, and monitoring the completion of assignments.
  • Guide service department team members on operational matters, ensuring adherence to ISI systems and service standards.
  • Engage directly with customers regarding sales, service, and various customer needs and adjustments.
  • Assess the performance and productivity of all service department personnel.
  • Manage parts inventory and external purchases, ensuring compliance with the parts and Tire Purchase Program, while updating and restocking in-house parts as necessary.
  • Maintain store safety, including the proper use and upkeep of safety equipment.
  • Ensure appropriate layout and positioning of equipment within the service department.
  • Supervise the shop area, equipment, and team members to ensure compliance with company safety protocols.
  • Coach personnel on the enforcement of wheel torqueing procedures.
  • Ensure that thorough inspections are conducted regularly.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional leadership and management capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a talent for mentoring others to enhance efficiency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to build professional relationships with both customers and team members.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Service Manager capacity.
  • A proven history of surpassing business objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Solid understanding of basic OSHA regulations and MSDS compliance.
