As a Field Service Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and support for their vehicles. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with pre-production vehicle builds, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Travel to locations to support service needs, including production plants, as required.
  • Operate remotely until local service centers open, if applicable.
  • Follow Rivian repair procedures with efficiency, prioritizing quality and safety.
  • Perform or assist with diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles.
  • Support vehicle repairs in non-service center settings, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  • Conduct road tests to verify repair quality.
  • Manage parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Provide expert knowledge on Rivian's product line, EV framework, tools, and accessories.
  • Stay up-to-date with technical skills and required training.
  • Support campaigns and containment initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate expense reporting as needed.
  • Ensure high-quality work and efficiency, working with minimal supervision.
  • Document repairs completed and in process, ensuring clarity for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide feedback to senior technicians or managers.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school preferred.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on work experience, preferably in the automotive field.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Basic knowledge of diagnosis and workflows.
  • Able to read electrical schematics.
  • Entry-level diagnostic exposure.
  • Understanding of high voltage and low voltage electricity principles.
  • Able to perform tire repair and vehicle alignment.
  • Ability to drive non-commercial trucks and trailers, preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, or as needed.
  • Availability for a regular schedule of 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays, according to business needs.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Parts department and billing experience preferred.
  • Experience using work order management systems, including repair documentation.
  • Experience working in start-up environments, preferred.
  • Patience and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, along with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to see, read, and interpret documents, such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or schematics.
