Job Title: Field Engineer/Assistant Superintendent

Job Summary:

The Field Engineer/Assistant Superintendent will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of construction projects by overseeing site operations, supervising subcontractors, and reporting progress to the Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent and Safety Manager to implement health and safety project plans and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with scheduling and progress tracking, and provide input on schedule updates.
  • Lead and supervise workers, monitor work performance, and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Work collaboratively with the project team to ensure timely completion of projects and maintain open communication.
  • Track and maintain construction documents, support Quality Assurance, and manage punch lists and changes.
  • Attend and document Safety, Subcontractor, and Owner meetings.
  • Provide input and assistance with pre-job planning, strategizing, and scheduling.
  • Mentor subordinates and promote a positive team atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience in the construction industry.
  • Exceptional supervisory and people skills, with the ability to maintain positive working relationships.
  • Builder's license and certifications (OSHA, First Aid, CPR, etc.) are a plus.
  • General understanding and willingness to advance knowledge of Owner Contracts, Plan & specification requirements, subcontractor agreements, scope, and risk management mitigation.
  • Exhibits an understanding of construction process and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with scheduling process and use of a project plan.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to effectively multitask while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met while providing accurate deliverables.
  • Must have a robust knowledge of Excel, Word, Bluebeam, and Outlook - Project Management and Scheduling Software a plus.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
