About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician I to join our team at Children's Wisconsin. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for surgical procedures by setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure a seamless operation.
  • Assist with the orientation of new personnel to the scrubbing role.
  • Rotate shifts and work flexible hours to meet patient care needs.
Requirements
  • Completion of one year coursework in an operating room technician program or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with the healthcare team.
