The Community Engagement Specialist (CES) – FLOATER plays a vital role in supporting all Community Inclusion Services (CIS) teams across North County. This position involves working entirely in diverse community-based environments within a designated geographical service area, delivering culturally sensitive direct support services to various groups of program participants. The CES Floater is responsible for covering both planned and unexpected vacancies and absences of Community Engagement Specialists. On days when direct support is not required, this role assists the Director and Program Managers with community site development, employment site initiatives, and various administrative tasks.

The compensation for this role ranges from $18.50, along with a $1,500 hiring bonus.

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, exclusively within the North County region.

A typical day will include:

Providing culturally sensitive direct support to individuals using person-centered strategies, which includes:

  • Covering for planned and unplanned absences.
  • Offering coaching, supervision, and support to clients in community-based service settings.
  • Designing, implementing, and facilitating weekly and monthly lesson plans.
  • Proactively identifying and facilitating job, training, volunteer, or other community activities for program participants.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • A high school diploma or a general education degree (GED).
  • A valid CA Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Immediate access to a vehicle equipped with working seatbelts for participant transportation.
  • Comfort in driving a full-size van with multiple passengers.
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
  • High proficiency in using various computer and mobile device applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the rights and support services available for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

We'd love it if you:

  • Have six or more months of hands-on experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Are multilingual (English, Spanish, Tagalog).
  • Have experience with electronic case management systems (e.g., Therap).
  • Have experience in developing individual service plans (goal development).
