Key Responsibilities:

  • Registration and Scheduling:
    • Collect demographic and insurance information from patients.
    • Check in or interview patients to complete appropriate paperwork.
    • Direct patients to their appointments or procedures.
    • Assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
  • Eligibility and Benefits Verification:
    • Verify eligibility and benefits information for payers.
    • Interpret results and obtain signatures from patients as needed.
    • Collect co-pay or deductibles and respond to questions regarding financial assistance programs.
  • Account Management:
    • Use resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues.
    • Assist patients in completing request for information forms and submit to the appropriate department.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
    • Respond to questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-2 years of customer service experience required.
  • 0-2 years of general office experience required.
  • 0-2 years of experience using computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Knowledge of the components of revenue cycle and healthcare insurance preferred.

Physical Demands:

Light work: lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently.
