Job Title: General Merchandise Department Manager

Job Summary:

The General Merchandise Department Manager is responsible for leading the General Merchandise department, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the General Merchandise department team, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and sales growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase profitability.
  • Manage department inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and display of merchandise.
  • Monitor and control department expenses, including labor, inventory, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of retail management experience, preferably in a general merchandise department.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Working Conditions:

This role is exposed to a fast-paced work environment, with occasional exposure to electrical shock and equipment movement hazards.
