Position Overview:

We are in search of a Lead Financial Analyst to join our expanding Accounting and Finance team in Chicago. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will oversee crucial functions within the Accounting and Finance domains. Ideal candidates will possess a positive mindset, thrive in a dynamic environment, and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute procedures for the month-end closing process, which includes posting month-end journal entries, conducting various balance sheet reconciliations, and performing expense fluctuation analyses.
  • Assist in the monthly consolidation activities, which involve posting intercompany billing and payables, recording elimination entries, and reconciling intercompany balances.
  • Support the year-end audit process by collaborating with external auditors, preparing necessary schedules, and gathering required documentation.
  • Play a vital role in enhancing and managing the NetSuite ERP system.
  • Contribute to the Accounts Receivable process, including aiding in collections, addressing billing inquiries, analyzing the allowance for doubtful accounts, and conducting other analyses related to customer sales and outstanding receivables as needed.
  • Assist the accounting team with the preparation of monthly state sales tax filings.
  • Engage in ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification or in progress
  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot tables, SumIf, Vlookups)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Self-motivated with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work accurately and independently in a fast-paced and growing environment.
  • Proficient in interacting with various levels within the organization and with clients.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite ERP.
