Position Overview

Burns & McDonnell, a fully employee-owned firm with over a century of expertise in the water and wastewater sector, is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Denver office as a Lead Environmental Engineering Specialist/Project Manager. This role will focus on supporting our municipal water and wastewater process teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a robust project engineering background with a successful track record of cultivating strong client partnerships.
  • Exhibit strong technical skills in the preparation of contract documents, with a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles related to the design and construction of municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities and pumping stations.
  • Manage the permitting process for water and wastewater facilities in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain a keen attention to detail and adhere to company quality control standards.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited institution, with a focus on water or civil engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the design and construction management of water and wastewater treatment and pumping projects (a master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience).
  • Capability to oversee all project phases, including planning, specification preparation, construction administration, and occasional field observation.
  • A valid driver's license is required, and candidates must meet the criteria to qualify for and maintain the company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.

Compensation Range

$140,000 - $190,000

The anticipated compensation range for this position is provided in accordance with local and state regulations. This range is influenced by various factors, including individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location. The overall annual compensation package will include a base salary and eligibility for our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
