Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer/Scientist/Consultant to join our team at Barr Engineering Co. in the Intermountain West region. As a key member of our environmental team, you will assist with the management of state permitting and federal environmental review opportunities across the United States, with a focus on the intermountain west.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the management of state permitting and federal environmental review opportunities
  • Work with clients to identify, scope, and manage environmental review, permitting, and compliance projects
  • Provide technical advice and support to clients and project teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, government officials, and other stakeholders
  • Manage and support the development of state and federal-level environmental review documents and permit applications
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to prepare National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents and other environmental regulatory reporting documents
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, natural resources management, or a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience directly related to environmental review and permitting projects
  • Proven ability to lead, organize, and direct multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of and experience with NEPA and state-equivalent regulations and processes
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with federal and state regulatory agency staff, resource managers, and other government officials
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent experience with environmental permitting/consulting in the intermountain west
  • Experience managing environmental review and permitting projects at state (where applicable) and/or federal level
  • Experience and/or familiarity with regulatory programs and permitting requirements, including water appropriations, Clean Water Act permitting, and threatened and endangered species
What We Offer

Barr Engineering Co. offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $73,000-$107,000/year, as well as a discretionary cash bonus.
