Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Marine Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Vigor. As a key member of our shipyard, you will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance and emergent repairs on ships, as well as yard mechanical maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on shipboard machinery and equipment
  • Conduct emergent repairs on ships, including mechanical and electrical systems
  • Assist in the installation and testing of new equipment and systems
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure safe and efficient work practices
  • Perform quality control checks on work completed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 3 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Proven skills in mechanical maintenance and repair, including knowledge of rigging and overhead crane operation
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
Work Environment

This position requires working in a shop setting, as well as on ships and in outdoor environments. You will be exposed to various weather conditions, noise, and physical demands. Safety equipment is required, including hard hats, eye and ear protection, and respirators.
