Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Marine Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Vigor. As a key member of our shipyard, you will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance and repairs on ships, as well as yard mechanical maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on shipboard machinery, including pumps, gears, and gearboxes
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshoot issues with mechanical systems
  • Use hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment, to perform repairs and maintenance
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces, as required
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure safe and efficient completion of tasks
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 3 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Proven skills in mechanical maintenance and repair, including knowledge of rigging and overhead crane operation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Work Environment

This position requires working in a shop setting, as well as outdoors on project sites. You will be exposed to various environmental conditions, including noise, fumes, and extreme temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required to be worn at all times.
