Plant Maintenance Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for managing a group of maintenance supervisors and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement maintenance systems to reduce mechanical downtime and improve product flow and production lines.
- Manage maintenance staff through delegation, policy administration, and work assignment planning.
- Ensure plant safety performance through policy enforcement and training.
- Provide short and medium-term solutions to operating teams with troubleshooting and problem analysis.
- Assist in developing and managing a Preventive and Predictive Maintenance program using SAP PM Module.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years' relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a leadership position, including team development and management.
- Advanced technical skills in mechanical/electrical fields and ability to lead resource planning efforts.
- Thorough knowledge of world-class maintenance management systems and work order processes.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
