About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of our facilities, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Systems Management: Develop and implement effective maintenance systems to minimize downtime and maximize plant capacity.
  • Maintenance Staff and Safety: Manage and supervise a team of maintenance staff, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Solutions and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and solutions to operating teams, ensuring the smooth daily operation of the plant.
  • Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Assist in developing and managing a Preventive and Predictive Maintenance program using SAP PM Module.
  • Key Performance Indicators: Maintain compliance with Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years' relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a position of leadership, including team development and management.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced technical skills in mechanical and electrical fields, including PLCs, instrumentation, and mechanical engineering.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
