About the Role

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a skilled Credit Specialist to join our team. As a Credit Specialist, you will play a critical role in researching payment credits and taking appropriate actions to ensure accurate and timely payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research payment credits on accounts to determine status and take appropriate action, including sales adjustments and refunds.
  • Consult with regional staff and branches prior to issuing refunds to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Managed Care and other third-party insurance/health plans coverage, billing procedures, coding, and policies.
  • Contact payers or patients to obtain necessary information for refunds.
  • Complete required forms to process refunds and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Review weekly postings of open credits to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to support the team.
Requirements
  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Accounts Receivables within a healthcare or insurance environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively elicit and provide information to and from appropriate individuals.
  • Quick and accurate Alpha/numeric data entry skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Web-enabled applications.
  • Excellent work ethic and commitment to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently.
  • Must present a positive image that reflects well on the organization.
