As a Wound Care Specialist at ChristianaCare, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with wounds, fistulas, ostomies, and incontinence issues. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote wound healing and prevent complications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a consultant in the management of patients with wounds, fistulas, ostomies, and/or incontinence issues.
  • Facilitates the learning process for patients/families with wounds, ostomies, and/or incontinence by influencing changes in behavior, knowledge, attitudes, and/or acquisition of psychomotor skills.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to deliver care appropriate to infant, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Provides informative programs to staff for the purpose of developing skills and knowledge related to patients/families with wounds, ostomies, fistulas, and/or incontinence.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required and MSN preferred.
  • 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience, leadership is preferred.
  • WOCN certification is preferred; or completion of certification required within 2 years of starting.
