We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and are seeking a dedicated professional to work in our Wound/Ostomy/Continence Nurse (WOCN) role. As a WOCN, you will serve as a clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as a consultant in the management of patients with wounds, fistulas, ostomies, and/or incontinence issues, with a focus on pressure injury prevention and management/treatment.
- Facilitate the learning process for patients/families with wounds, ostomies, and/or incontinence by influencing changes in behavior, knowledge, attitudes, and/or acquisition of psychomotor skills.
- Provide informative programs to staff for the purpose of developing skills and knowledge related to patients/families with wounds, ostomies, fistulas, and/or incontinence, with a focus on pressure injury prevention and management/treatment.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required and MSN preferred.
- 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience, leadership is preferred.
- WOCN certification is preferred; or completion of certification required within 2 years of starting.
