Physician Assistant

Job Summary:
The Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the ambulatory setting. This includes assessing patient health, performing physical examinations, and documenting patient care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining medical history.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting test results.
- Consult with colleagues, supervising physicians, specialists, and other health professionals as appropriate.
- Perform therapeutic procedures by administering injections, suturing, managing wounds and infections.
- Prescribe medications and other therapeutic equipment and supplies under the supervision of a licensed physician within scope of practice and area of specialty.
- May assist in surgery and provide education to patients and families.
- Provides case management services for patients, including completion of required forms and disability applications within prescribed timeframe of the practice.
- Follows established safety and infection control procedures. Intervenes in unsafe situations.
- Adheres to all Federal Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPPA) regulations.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
Requirements:
- Valid license/certificate as a Physician Assistant in the State of NJ required.
- 3 years of Physician Assistant experience preferred.
- Current New Jersey Physician Assistant license required.
- Current DEA license required.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
