Lead Software Engineer for Infrastructure Solutions

As a Lead Software Engineer on our Infrastructure team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our developer platform and services, specifically in user and data management across various layers of our architecture. Your collaboration with fellow engineers, researchers, and product managers will be essential in identifying and implementing impactful improvements in areas such as CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, deployment, security, and user authentication.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and oversee CI/CD and software release pipelines across diverse environments, continuously refining testing frameworks and deployment practices.
- Establish and execute our deployment strategy for SaaS-hosted, on-premises, and managed service solutions.
- Develop and sustain Snorkel's production and staging infrastructure, taking ownership of our Kubernetes and cloud strategies.
- Design, create, and maintain observability, alerting, and monitoring systems.
- Participate in on-call duties in rotation with the engineering team.
- Work in a hybrid model, with flexible remote work options and designated 'No Meeting' days.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Over 6 years of experience in distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
- Expertise in automation, scripting languages, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
- Hands-on experience with Docker containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS/GKE).
- Strong programming and debugging skills in Python or a similar language.
- Excellent communication and coding abilities.
- A proactive and positive mindset.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Extensive operational experience with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with large-scale enterprise software deployments.
- Knowledge of security best practices and architectural design.
- Experience in building infrastructure, CI/CD, and tooling within an enterprise context.
