Position Overview

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and motivating teams to deliver exceptional products. Your extensive knowledge of effective software development practices, combined with your technical expertise, will enable you to make well-informed decisions regarding project timelines, scope, quality, and necessary trade-offs. You will oversee the comprehensive delivery of various components of the Yahoo Finance product, collaborating closely with engineering, product, design, and other cross-functional teams. Your ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, along with your readiness to engage in hands-on problem-solving, will be crucial for success in this role. You will also be expected to think strategically while executing methodically, integrating technical knowledge with data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a solid grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, encompassing requirements gathering, UI/UX design, architectural planning, stakeholder engagement, development, and deployment.
  • Oversee processes throughout all phases of the product lifecycle, utilizing strong hands-on knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Effectively prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple simultaneous projects in collaboration with a cross-functional team within a fast-paced setting.
  • Identify and resolve obstacles across the organization to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Lead teams towards achieving measurable outcomes by establishing and monitoring goals.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders at various levels within the Yahoo Finance team, aligning on shared objectives and communicating potential risks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical product or program management, directly collaborating with software development teams in a technology-focused organization.
  • Proficient understanding of contemporary technical architectures and delivering consumer web/mobile experiences.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and managing projects across cross-functional teams while establishing sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, especially Confluence and Jira; knowledge of Trello is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present information to senior management effectively.
  • A strong sense of curiosity and a commitment to continuous innovation.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model, with the expectation of commuting to an office as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale consumer mobile or web products.
  • Familiarity with software in the Finance/Investing/Personal Finance sector.
  • Relevant certifications such as Atlassian Certified Expert or Scrum Certification.

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,000 to $251,250 annually, varying based on factors such as location, skills, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonuses or commissions, along with equity incentives. Yahoo offers industry-leading benefits, including healthcare, a 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, and an employee assistance program, with eligibility requirements applying.
