Position Overview
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and motivating teams to deliver exceptional products. Your extensive knowledge of effective software development practices and technical expertise will enable you to make well-informed decisions regarding timelines, scope, quality, and trade-offs. You will oversee the comprehensive delivery of various components of the Yahoo Finance product, collaborating closely with engineering, product, design teams, and other cross-functional groups. Your ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and your readiness to engage in hands-on tasks will be crucial for successful delivery. You will need to think strategically while executing methodically, integrating technical acumen with data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding and application of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, including requirements gathering, UI/UX design, architectural planning, stakeholder feedback, development, and deployment.
- Manage processes throughout all phases of the product lifecycle, leveraging strong hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and Jira ticketing/workflow systems.
- Prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple concurrent projects while collaborating with a cross-functional team in a high-velocity environment.
- Identify and resolve obstacles across the organization to ensure successful and timely delivery.
- Lead teams towards measurable outcomes by establishing and monitoring goals.
- Engage with multiple stakeholders at various levels within the Yahoo Finance team, aligning on shared objectives and communicating potential risks.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical product or program management, working directly with software development teams in a technology-focused organization.
- Proficient understanding of contemporary technical architectures and delivering consumer web/mobile experiences.
- Experience with Scrum or similar Agile methodologies, along with managing projects across cross-functional teams, establishing sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, particularly Confluence and Jira; Trello experience is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present information to senior management.
- A strong sense of curiosity and a commitment to continuous innovation.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model, commuting to an office as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale mobile or web-based consumer products.
- Familiarity with software in the Finance/Investing/Personal Finance sector.
- Relevant certifications such as Atlassian Certified Expert or Scrum Certification.

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,000 to $251,250 annually, varying based on factors such as location, skills, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonuses or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
