Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill newborns and their families, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with the attending physician and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop effective care strategies.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies, and develop and implement treatment plans based on findings.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as authorized by New York State law and hospital policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, and serve as a resource for other healthcare professionals.
- Master's degree in Nursing and current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York.
- Registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York and certification in a relevant specialty (e.g. Neonatal Nursing).
- At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience in the care of critically ill newborns, with a strong background in neonatal nursing and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Previous experience as a nurse practitioner in a neonatal intensive care unit.
- Membership in professional specialty organizations (e.g. American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, National Association of Neonatal Nurses).
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
