Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Bellevue in the NICU. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our NICU services.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates and their families, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop effective care strategies.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies, and develop treatment plans based on findings.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as authorized by New York State law and hospital bylaws.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
- Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or equivalent.
- At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of neonates and their families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience as a nurse practitioner in a neonatal setting.
- Membership in professional specialty organizations, such as the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN).
