Job Summary:

The Vice Chair for Research will be responsible for overseeing the department's research initiatives, developing and implementing strategic plans, and fostering a collaborative research environment. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research productivity, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive research strategy for the department
  • Lead the development of research proposals and grants
  • Foster a collaborative research environment and promote interdisciplinary research
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior faculty members
  • Work closely with the Chair and other departmental leaders to advance the department's research agenda
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric research, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. A terminal degree (M.D. or D.O.) and eligibility for appointment to the University of Virginia faculty are required.
