Job Title: Medical Director/Faculty, Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly qualified Medical Director/Faculty, Physician Assistant to join our team at Mercy University. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight to our Physician Assistant Studies Program.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Program Director in the development, evaluation, and improvement of the curriculum for the Physician Assistant program.
  • Ensure that didactic and clinical instruction meet current practice standards as they relate to the role of the PA in providing patient care.
  • Teach assigned courses with responsibility for curriculum development, content delivery, and assessment of learning.
  • Actively participate in the program and support the development of the program competencies to meet current practice standards as they relate to the PA role.
  • Participate in the Program's community-based Mobile Health Vehicle Initiative.
  • Support the ongoing evaluation of the program competencies to meet PA current practice standards and ARC-PA requirements.
  • Participate in the identification, recruitment, development, monitoring, and maintenance of quality pre-clinical clerkship and clinical teaching sites.
  • Participate in the recruitment of physician, physician assistant, and other healthcare providers to provide specialty lecturers, clinical skills training, and supervised clinical practice experiences as needed.
  • Participate in scholarship and service activities as required to maintain licensure and board certification.
  • Participate in accreditation-related activities, including evaluation of curriculum and administrative aspects of the program, as required.
  • Participate in student recruitment, admission, and retention.
  • Participate in interprofessional education.
  • Participate in program, school, and University committees.
Requirements:
  • Current license as an allopathic or osteopathic physician.
  • Certified by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board.
  • Current and valid New York-Licensed Physician (MD or DO).
  • Medical or Surgical Specialty - Board Certification (within the US).
  • Graduate of a U.S. accredited medical school.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience.
  • Prior teaching experience in a Physician Assistant Program or medical school preferred.
