Duke Health is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Surgery Nurse to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Pediatric Surgery Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing compassionate and family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgical procedures.

About the Pediatric Surgery OR

The Pediatric Surgery Operating Room at Duke University Hospital is a dedicated surgical unit specializing in caring for young patients across multiple surgical specialties. Our team is highly trained in addressing the unique medical needs of children, ensuring the highest level of safety and comfort during procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
  • Participate in preoperative preparation, including child-friendly educational activities and techniques to ease anxiety
  • Contribute to post-operative care, focusing on pain management, comfort, and family involvement
Requirements
  • Current registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina
  • BLS (or higher) certification required
  • Professional specialty certification (preferred)
