Position Title: Plumbing Operations Supervisor

Reports to: Plumbing Department Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt

Compensation Type: Hourly

Role Summary

The Plumbing Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting plumbing professionals with complex tasks, providing training and guidance to Journeyman plumbers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and conducting thorough quality assessments of completed projects. This position may also involve hands-on service, maintenance, and installation tasks as required by staffing and client demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee project mechanics and facilitate regular meetings to enhance field operations.
  • Plan workforce allocation, considering future requirements, and maintain a three-week projection.
  • Implement discipline and management among field staff to maximize productivity.
  • Prepare material lists for ongoing projects.
  • Coordinate activities with other trades involved in the project.
  • Conduct quality assurance measures and testing to verify proper installation and operation of systems.
  • Enforce safety regulations on the job site for all team members.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Inform the project manager of any additional tasks that arise during the project and assist in estimating related costs.
  • Participate in progress meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain project documentation, including daily reports.
  • Guide and mentor team members to uphold a clean and organized work environment.
  • Prepare and oversee the project punch list to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through a final walkthrough upon project completion.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly forecasting meetings.
  • Record daily time for all personnel involved in the project.
  • Track daily quantities installed.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • At least one to three years of relevant experience or additional specialized training and/or certification.
  • Strong understanding of blueprints and project specifications.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work after hours, on weekends, and during public holidays with little or no notice.
  • Manual dexterity is required.
  • Must be insurable.
